A new judge has been announced for the second season of Masterchef New Zealand as a replacement for the departing Ross Burden.
TVNZ announced today that Kiwi chef Josh Emett will join Simon Gault and Ray McVinnie for season two of the hit reality television cooking competition.
Emett has run restaurants for celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay in London, New York, Los Angeles and Melbourne and received four Michelin stars.
He said he was looking forward to returning to New Zealand and meeting a selection of "great amateur chefs".
But he had a warning for the contestants.
"There will be no room for jokers," he said. "I am looking for dedication, determination and discipline."
Burden is leaving the show to work on a law degree. He said there were no hard feelings.
"I'm stepping out of the studio for now but not out of the kitchen, I'll still be very active in the food arena."
Season two of Masterchef New Zealand is due to screen on TV One early next year.
Season one was won by Christchurch school teacher Brett McGregor.

found out through the shockingly bad tv3 forum. no word from tv3 at the time, just chucked on some good old trusty grand designs... zzzz. went to the backup plan of torrents. 4 weeks behind, will be up to date by the end of today.
