A Levin man who was missing for about 24 hours has been found today.

Stuart Richard Rangihuna went missing after leaving a note for his wife saying he had gone for a walk to "the lake", believed to be Lake Horowhenua.

He did not return home after his walk and local police and Search and Rescue volunteers searched tracks around Lake Horowhenua and other nearby lakes yesterday.

Levin police say he was found at the bottom of The Trig, in the foothills of the Tararua Ranges, this morning with minor injuries.
