Several earthquakes have shaken a Hawke’s Bay town this evening.
GeoNet said one quake, of 4.2 magnitude, hit at 5.46pm, 40km south-east of Wairoa.
The focal depth of the quake was 15km, and was of moderate intensity, said GeoNet.
A few minutes later, at 5.51pm, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake hit in the same area.
Several Twitter users felt the shakes, with one user tweeting: “What's up wairoa 4 earthquakes in last half hour,” and another saying “That's a couple of good shakes near Wairoa. Did no one in HB feel them?”
