Fire damages A&P stables
Stables at the home of the Canterbury A&P Show have been badly damaged by a suspicious fire.
Firefighters were called to the scene of the blaze at the Canterbury Agricultural Park, Curletts Rd about 11.30pm, yesterday.
On arrival, they found two stables on fire.
"It seems like they were reasonably well damaged," A Fire Service spokesman said.
Police were called because the fire was deemed suspicious, the spokesman said. Investigators would be at the scene this morning.
The blaze was one of two suspicious fires in Christchurch overnight.
