An anonymous buyer has picked up the keys to the mayoral Daimler limousine.
Mayor Lianne Dalziel has accepted a bid of $32,109 from Turners Auctions for the car. Proceeds will go to the Christchurch Earthquake Mayoral Relief Fund.
The auction was run by Turners Auctions in association with the Christchurch City Council, at Dalziel's request.
The buyer, who wishes to remain anonymous, has collected the Daimler and its "visitor's book".
According to the book, the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana have all been in the car.
