State Highway 1 has reopened after two vehicles collided south of Christchurch this morning.

The crash happened on Main South Rd, between Rolleston and Templeton, about 7.40am today.

A police southern communications spokesman said a car crashed into the back of another, closing the state highway for about an hour.

No one was injured in the crash.

Diversions were in place while the crash scene was cleared, and the state highway had now reopened, the spokesman said.
