A 90-year-old woman has been hospitalised after two vehicles collided in Christchurch.

The crash happened on Prestons Rd, Marshland, about 11.50am today, injuring a 90-year-old woman, a police spokesman said.

A St John spokeswoman confirmed the elderly woman was taken to Christchurch Hospital, but did not have details on the extent of her injuries.

No one else was believed to have been injured in the crash.

Motorists travelling Prestons Rd would have experienced delays until the crash scene was cleared about 1pm, police said.
