Five men arrested after last week's fatal Nelson shooting of a 22-year-old man were further remanded in custody after making a second appearance in Nelson District Court this morning.

Blair Robert McNaughton, 24, is accused of murdering Anthony Troy Minto.

He, Blake Paul Cunnard, 23, Isaac Crawford Warren, 20, Samual  Ingram Gillbanks, 22, and Jared Matthew Perry, 22, are all accused of unlawful assembly and possession of a firearm.

The charges stem from an arranged meeting between two groups of men, relating to a woman known to both, at Nelson City's Branford Park, in the Maitai Valley, on November 13.

McNaughton, Cunnard, Warren and Gillbanks did not seek bail and were remanded in custody until November 27.

Perry was refused bail and remanded in custody to appear at a hearing on January 18.
