A female student has been referred to Youth Aid after lying about an attack on her in Waimairi Cemetery.
Detective Senior Sergeant Virginia le Bas said they had completed their investigation and were no longer seeking anyone in connection with the 'attack'.
The student claimed she had been assaulted between 10.00 and 11.00 pm on Monday November 23, as she walked through the grounds of Kendal School towards the cemetery.
She said she was assaulted by two males as she got to the gate between the school and the cemetery.
