The future of youth healthcare in Christchurch will be discussed at a Canterbury District Health Board (CDHB) meeting next month.
Representatives from health providers and youth organisations are expected to attend.
Hereford St centre 198 Youth Health, which provides free healthcare for under-25s, will close at the end of next month because of funding cuts.
MPs, health professionals and clients have protested against the closure, saying it would hurt young people.
The health board said it had worked with the centre to help it adjust to a new funding method. It said other general practices provided free or low-cost general medical care for youths, and it was investigating a one-stop shop for youth healthcare.
Board chairman Alister James said he would meet interested parties next month to see what was best for the future.
The money that was assigned to 198 Youth Health – between $400,000 and $500,000 – was still available for youth services, he said.
