Truck crash near Blenheim

A truck and trailer unit crashed into a road barrier near Blenheim early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene on State Highway One, about 10km south of Blenheim, at 12.50am.
A B-train truck and trailer containing hazardous material has been travelling north on the road but failed to negotiate a left-hand bend, known as Dazzle Corner.
The truck collided with a crash barrier, ending up on its side on top of the barrier.
The 32-year-old driver was not injured, but has been charged with careless driving.
The southbound lane was blocked and heavy lifting equipment was used to clear the road.
The road was expected to be clear by 8am.
