Police name fishing boat victim
Police today released the name of the man killed while working on a fishing boat at Port Nelson on Saturday.
He was Cain Adams, 33.
Police were called to the scene about 10.20am after Adams fell from the deck through an open hold.
His colleagues and the ship's captain were immediately aware of the accident and went to his aid.
Police and colleagues performed CPR on Adams for about 40 minutes, but he died at the scene.
He was working on the MJ Souza at Talley's wharf.
Maritime New Zealand is investigating.
