Teen arrested for Dallington stabbing

Police have arrested a man following stabbing near the Gayhurst Dairy, Dallington, on Sunday night.

A 17-year old Christchurch man was arrested today and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He will appear at Christchurch District Court tomorrow.

He is accused of approaching a 30-year old man in his parked vehicle on McBratneys Rd near the Gayhurst Rd intersection.

The man suffered stab wounds to the chest and arms. He was treated in hospital but the injuries were not considered serious.

Detective James Haigh said police were grateful for information from the members of the public.
