The Dalai Lama will visit Christchurch in June next year for a public talk at the CBS Canterbury Arena.
He would visit Dunedin, Auckland and Christchurch from June 10 to 12, the Dalai Lama Visit Trust New Zealand said today.
Trust spokesman Neil Cameron said that the last time the Dalai Lama was in Christchurch he received several requests to return.
"He indicated he would. My experience from His Holiness is if he indicates he will, he does."
He said ticketing details and costs were not yet known.
It will be the Dalai Lama's fourth visit to Christchurch.
He was last in the city in June last year to offer prayers and support residents after the February 22 earthquake.
He also visited Christchurch in 1992 and 1996, and this will be his seventh visit to New Zealand.
He would also visit Australia, Cameron said.
