Westport police have sent out a warning after a man is believed to have stalked at least three young girls.
In a statement, Westport police said they believed a man had tried to grabbed three young girls in separate incidents in the West Coast town.
In the latest incident, a 10-year-old girl reported being grabbed by a man in Domett St, outside the Solid Energy Centre.
The incident happened about 3.30pm on Wednesday.
Police said the girl reported seeing a man get out of a car, before grabbing her arm.
The girl hit the man with her school bag and managed to get away and call police.
The offender was described as being about 183cm tall, of medium build and with a "pinkish" nose.
Police suspected the incident could be linked to two other events in the town.
About 7pm on June 26, a 10-year-old girl was approached by a man on Henley St, while a 15-year-old girl was reportedly chased by a man on Romilly St, about 6.50pm on July 3.
Anyone with information on the incidents should contact Westport police on 03 789 7339, or to report information anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
