Police have not made any arrests after reports of gunfire in Addington this afternoon.

A police spokesman said officers went to a Poulson St property after receiving calls about shots being fired at 12.30pm today.

"It could be a BB gun or an air rifle, but we don't know yet," he said.

However, by 3pm a spokesman said police had finished their investigations and no arrests had been made.

The armed offenders squad was not called to the scene.
