Two motorcross riders are in hospital after colliding head-on with each other near Nelson today.
A 21-year-old man with serious injuries was treated by St John paramedics at the Hira Forest/Sharlands creek area at 12:30pm today.
He was airlifted to Nelson Hospital by the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter.
The second rider sustained moderate injuries and was also transported by helicopter to a waiting ambulance in the Matai valley and transported to Nelson Hospital by road.
No other information was available.
