Several accidents around the city have disrupted traffic this morning.

A contractor working in Deans Ave cut a gas main about 8.45am this morning, causing traffic to back-up along the busy route.

The incident occurred between Riccarton Rd and Freyberg Ave but the main has now been repaired.

In Marshland, a van rolled onto its roof in Hills Rd, between Langes and Prestons roads, about 8.15am.

No-one was injured but police were at the scene helping to recover the vehicle.

In a third accident, St John ambulance staff treated a young man for minor injuries after two cars collided at the intersection of Kirks and Main South roads about 9am.

St John took a man in his 20s to the Riccarton Clinic.
