Take two takahe . . .
Christchurch's newest takahe has not had a spring fling but her keepers hope a friendship will blossom.
Bunchy, an 18-year-old female takahe, was yesterday moved from Mana Island, near Wellington, to Christchurch's Willowbank Wildlife Reserve to be with Hamilton, a 20-something male, in an attempt to have a pair of "takahe ambassadors" in the South Island.
The pair are to be kept in adjoining enclosures until there are signs of friendly interaction.
