Armed police called to Linwood
The armed offenders squad was called to Linwood Ave this morning after a landlord reported hearing ammunition being loaded into a gun.
A police spokesman said police were called to a Linwood address after a landlord, who had been in discussion with a tenant, reported hearing what he believed was ammunition being loaded into a gun magazine.
The area was cordoned off and police spoke to a male occupant of the house, who came out without incident.
He was now in police custody and assisting with inquiries, the spokesman said.
A firearm had not been located, but drug-related materials were located, he said.
The man may face charges related to the materials found, he said.
