Man missing from Chch mall found
Rangiora man Lawrence O'Connell, who was visiting a mall when he went missing yesterday, has been found.
Police said this morning that O'Connell had read on the internet that police were looking for him. He called into a New Brighton bar and asked them to call police.
The 67-year-old was then taken back to his Rangiora home.
He had been visiting The Palms Shopping Centre in Shirley with his wife when he went missing yesterday afternoon.
Senior Constable Anna Stenhouse said yesterday that O'Connell suffered from a brain injury as a result of a stroke and required daily medication.
Stenhouse said O'Connell was in an agitated state and was believed to have left The Palms on foot.
