Winch rescue for stuck climber
Paramedics were winched 120 feet down Doom Creek today to rescue a 75-year-old-man.
The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Heliopter attended the scene near Canvastown, Marlborough at 14.30 today and airlifted the injured man to Nelson Hospital.
He was treated for injuries at the scene before being airlifted away.
Rescue helicopter staff said the man was rescued from a "very tight and difficult position deep in the gorge''.
