Firefighters battle factory blaze
LATEST: Firefighters battled a blaze at a furniture factory in Waltham for over an hour this morning.
The Fire Service was called to the Ashton Grove Showroom, in Raycroft St, about 4.30am.
Fire safety officer Graham Davies said the workshop's finishing and spraying part of the workshop had gone up in flames.
"There is some substantial damage to the workshop," he said.
Some timber furniture that was due to be delivered at the weekend was also destroyed in the blaze.
Davies said the fire was being treated as accidental.
"It's not looking like it was suspicious or lit deliberately. We are still looking at how it was started but we do have some options."
A private fire investigator would also look at the cause of the fire, he said.
