Car hits train near Blenheim

A man has walked away without injuries after driving into the side of a train near Blenheim.

Police say the incident happened at the Vickerman St level crossing, at the intersection with State Highway 1, in Grovetown, at 5.44am.

Constable Andrew Holdaway said it appeared the man hit the train.

"He drove into the side of the train," he said.

State Highway 1 was blocked for a short time.

Police are investigating.
