Man found in driveway dies
The Christchurch man found seriously injured in a Russley driveway has died.
Police said Warren Noel Blackett, 44, died in Christchurch Hospital about 3.40pm today.
Blackett was found injured about 6.30am yesterday in the driveway of a home on Yaldhurst Rd.
He had been in a critical condition in hospital since. An autopsy will be held tomorrow.
Police are continuing to treat the incident as a possible hit-and-run and Detective Senior Sergeant Tony Hill asked for two youths seen in the area to contact police.
"A witness that has come forward in the past 24 hours has reported seeing two youths, both male with fair hair, running along Yaldhurst Rd towards the city in the early hours of Wednesday morning," Hill said.
"At this stage we don't know whether there's any connection between these people and the injuries sustained by Mr Blackett. We appeal for them to come forward and contact us."
If anyone else had seen these people in the area they were also asked to come forward.
