Firefighters are battling a vegetation fire at the site of a proposed subdivision in Belfast.

A Fire Service spokesman understood the fire, near the Clearwater Resort, started after a controlled burn got out of hand.

He said fire crews were alerted to the blaze about 10am.

Three trucks and two tankers were at the scene.

However, a fourth truck from Harewood station may be requested to assist, he said.
