Chch man missing in Tasman District
Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a Christchurch man missing since Friday.
Mark William Robinson, 37, has been missing since 7.30am on Friday, when he did not go to work.
Police believe he may be in the Tasman District.
Detective Constable Keith Olds said Robinson had not been seen since Friday morning but his car was located yesterday near Tapawera, between Nelson and Murchison.
"Robinson left for work at around 7.30am on Friday but did not go to work as usual,'' he said.
''We believe he travelled to Nelson and then on towards Murchison.
''His car, a gold Mazda MX5 convertible, was found by police yesterday evening on a back road near Tapawera.
"An initial search of the area has not turned up any sign of Mr Robinson."
Olds said there was nothing to suggest foul play, but police had concerns for Robinson's welfare as his disappearance was "out of character".
"We urge Mr Robinson to contact police as soon as possible. We would also like to hear from anyone who has seen Mr Robinson or had contact with him since Friday morning or who knows anything about his whereabouts," he said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Olds on 373 9220 or police on 363 7400. To provide information anonymously, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
