The body of a missing Christchurch man has been found near Nelson.
Search and rescue teams looking for Mark William Robinson found his body in scrub off Dry Weather Rd, between Glenhope and Tapawera, about 10pm yesterday.
A formal identification has yet to be completed, but police believe the person recovered fits the description of the missing man.
Robinson, 37, had not been seen since last Friday morning, when he told his partner he was going to work.
His gold Mazda MX5 convertible was found on Sunday night in Dry Weather Rd.
The vehicle was in a culvert and was not able to be driven.
It was locked and his wallet was missing from the car, suggesting he might have left the vehicle to get help.
