A television current affairs producer and puppeteer will step into Mike Yardley's shoes as Christchurch's next Newstalk ZB morning host.
The station yesterday named Chris Lynch as its new host, replacing Yardley, who had more than eight years in the role.
Lynch has worked as a producer on current affairs show Close Up .
This followed stints in Newstalk ZB's West Coast and Auckland newsrooms.
He is also a puppeteer and operated New Zealand's first Muppet, modelled on former Close Up presenter Mark Sainsbury.
Radio Network Christchurch general manager Andrew Britt said Lynch was "an emerging talent in talk radio".
Lynch will start his new role on January 14.
