More complaints about mall masseur
Two more alleged victims of a Christchurch mall masseur have come forward with complaints of indecent assault.
A Christchurch man appeared in the Christchurch District Court on December 10 on a charge of indecent assault.
Police allege the man indecently assaulted a female customer during a massage at a suburban mall this month.
Detective Damon Wells said the alleged incident took place while the 22-year-old woman was receiving a massage in a private room at the store about 7.30pm.
He said she had "done the right thing" by reporting it to police.
"It's pretty brazen what's gone on," he said.
The man was remanded on bail without plea to reappear on January 7.
Police said today that two more people had come forward with complaints about the masseur.
Wells said the women alleged the same type of indecent assault at a different branch of the same store in a second mall.
"The fact that additional women have come forward indicates a disturbing pattern of behaviour," he said.
"There may well be still more victims we are unaware of."
Wells said police concerns were only in relation to the one masseur.
He said the man had worked at the store for "a short period of time".
Anyone with information is asked to contact Wells on 363 7859 or the Christchurch police on 363 7400.
