A missing Wellington man may be hunkering down in Christchurch, police say.
Morton Broughton, 43, has not been seen for over three weeks and police are concerned about his safety.
The day he went missing on November 26, Broughton told friends he was planning on a trip to the South Island.
Police believe he could now be in Christchurch.
"People that know Morton were and remain concerned for him," Detective Senior Sergeant Donna Howard said.
"He has not touched his bank accounts or contacted anyone for over three weeks now."
Broughton is a Maori male who may be recognised by a tattoo of a red rose on the left side of his neck, she said.
Anyone with information about Broughton or his whereabouts should contact Wellington police on 04 381 2000.
