Almost 300 struggling Christchurch families will receive food packages and gifts as part of the Rebuild Christchurch Foundation's Project Christmas.
As part of the project, several Christchurch organisations donated money or gifts, and a team from Rebuild Christchurch delivered the packages across the city on the She Chocolate bus.
Rebuild Christchurch's Deon Swiggs said it was important to acknowledge those who were still struggling in the wake of the earthquakes.
"It was abundantly clear from the 350 nominations we received that there are still many families and individuals still doing it hard. Most recipients have children and we know the gifts they will receive this week will put a smile on their faces," he said.
