Diver flown to hospital

A diver in his 50s has been winched to safety and flown to hospital after falling on rocks near Port Underwood in the Marlborough Sounds. 

The Life Flight helicopter was called to the scene at Robin Hood Bay at 10am today. 

A paramedic was winched onto an outcrop of rocks to attend to the man, who has moderate leg injuries. 

The patient, a South Island man, was then flown to Wairau Hospital in Blenheim, where he is being further assessed.
