Car crashes off bank near Murchison

One person has been flown to Nelson Hospital with chest injuries after a car went off a bank in the Buller Gorge.

St John was alerted to the crash at 11.58am today. The car was travelling to Murchison when it crashed.

A spokesman said two ambulance crews, from Murchison and Reefton, went to the scene, along with a rescue helicopter from Greymouth.

Police said a boy and a woman were also injured in the accident.

The boy suffered cuts and the woman had minor injuries.
