A Christchurch man has come forward after a man was reportedly seen peering into a Mairehau house on Tuesday.
After publicity on the incident, a 54-year-old man contacted police yesterday and is assisting officers with their investigation.
No decision has been made on charges, police said.
A member of the public reported seeing a man looking into a house near Walter Park about 5.30pm on Tuesday.
The man was reportedly holding up a cellphone, possibly filming, while doing an indecent act.
The man left the area quickly after being confronted by the witness, who described seeing the man leave in a Toyota Hiace van covered in V energy drink stickers
Police received several calls from the public after publicity on the incident.
