A male motorcyclist has been killed in a crash on the West Coast.
The motorcycle collided with a car on State Highway 7 between Reefton and Blacks Point at 12.45pm today.
Police said the collision happened on a sweeping bend.
The rider was killed in the crash, while the sole occupant of the car, a Reefton resident, was unharmed.
Serious-crash investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash and police are contacting the motorcyclist's relatives.
The highway is closed between Reefton and Blacks Point.
Police hope to have the road open by about 3pm.
