Car surfer badly injured in fall
A 21-year-old woman is in intensive care after falling from a moving car in Christchurch.
Detective Sergeant Al Lester said the woman was a passenger in the car when she fell out the window about 1.30am yesterday.
He said it appeared the woman was car surfing when she fell. She had climbed partway out of a window.
The other car occupants took the woman to Christchurch Hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.
Lester said alcohol was suspected in the incident.
The driver had been spoken to by police, but no charges had been laid at this stage, he said.
