A man had a 9cm knife embedded in his head after being attacked at a party in Christchurch.
The 20-year-old man was attacked on Flockton St, St Albans and stabbed just behind the eye by another man during a party early this morning.
One of the police officers who attended the scene had emergency medical experience and decided to leave the 9cm knife in the man’s head.
He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to have surgery today.
A 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene and he was due to appear in the Christchurch District Court this morning on charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
