The man convicted of the murder of Timaru woman Lisa Blakie has been denied parole for the second time.

The Parole Board saw Timothy David Taylor, 44, on Thursday, once again denying him parole.

Blakie's body was found in the Porter River on Waitangi Day 2000, four days after Taylor murdered the 20-year-old.

In a statement from the board today, it said it declined parole as it was not satisfied that he ''no longer poses an undue risk to the safety of the community''.

Taylor was found guilty of her murder in 2002 and sentenced to life in prison.

Blakie's father Doug said he had asked the board to defer seeing Taylor for three years, the longest period the board could refuse to see a prisoner.
