Scrub fire breaks out in Southbridge
A scrub fire has broken out in Canterbury this afternoon.
A Fire Service spokesman said they were called out to an out of control stubble paddock fire in McEvedys Rd in Southbridge at 2.10pm.
He said the 250 metre by 100m blaze was now burning through gorse and scrub.
"The fire hasn't been brought under control, but we don't think it's escalating to much either," he said.
Fire crews from Leeston and Southbridge, and four tankers from around the region were attending the blaze.
