Dunsandel crash diverts traffic
A woman has been cut free after two cars crashed near Dunsandel.
A police spokesman the crash happened on State Highway 1 just after 12pm.
A Fire Service spokesman said a woman, cut from her vehicle, was flown to Christchurch Hospital by helicopter. She had serious injuries.
The crash was at the intersection of Boundary Creek Rd and SH1, near railway lines. Trains were held up as a result, he said.
Fire crews from Dunsandel and Burnham attended.
A diversion was in place.
