No bail was sought when a man charged with a series of driving offences - and injuring two people by careless driving - appeared in court today.
Joel Allan Linwood, 23, was arrested yesterday, two weeks after a crash in Leeston Rd in which three people were injured.
He faces two charges of unlawfully getting into cars, three of unlawfully taking cars, failing to stop for a police car using its lights and sirens, careless driving causing injury to a man and woman in the crash on May 7, and four charges of driving while disqualified.
Duty lawyer Shannon-Leigh Litt said no bail would be sought for Linwood today, but an application would be made when he appeared again on May 30.
Judge Roy Wade granted the remand in custody.
Police have alleged Linwood fled after the crash near Leeston but no charge of leaving the scene of an injury accident has been laid.
