Missing Christchurch teenager found
Police have found a missing Christchurch teenager and arrested the man she is believed to have been associating with.
Daniel Gerrard, 20, was arrested this afternoon at the Central Library in Peterborough St after staff recognised him from a photo published on press.co.nz.
Detective Sergeant Mark Worner said staff told police they had seen Gerrard's photo online and believed he was the man using a computer at the back of the library.
Three officers went to the library, tapped Gerrard on the shoulder and arrested him without incident.
Gerrard, who had warrants out for breach of bail and wilful damage, will appear in court tomorrow.
The 13-year-old Harewood girl, who went missing on Monday, was found at a house today.
Worner said police were grateful for information received from the public.
"We received a number of calls from people who had seen the man we were seeking and from people who knew him. We appreciate the assistance of the media and the help from the public," he said.
The girl was reported missing by her family on Monday.
Police had believed the pair were together and that she had gone with him willingly.
