Picture of missing man's car released
Police have ''heightened concerns'' for the safety of a Christchurch man missing since last Friday.
Peter John Crowther, 55, was last seen about 5pm on June 14 at his workplace in Addington.
He has not been in contact with family since and his disappearance is out of character, police said.
He may be in North Canterbury, as he was believed to have travelled through the area last Friday evening, or on the West Coast where he has connections.
He is accustomed to the outdoors and may have headed into the bush, but the current severe weather would be making conditions difficult.
Crowther is described as European, of solid build, about 160cm tall, with short grey hair, brown eyes and a large nose.
He is believed to be driving a 1996 Green Mitsubishi Galant, registration number UJ8610.
Police are appealing for hunters or anyone in the outdoors to keep alert for any sightings of the vehicle or the missing man.
Anyone who has seen Crowther or his vehicle is asked to contact police on 363 7400.
