A woman has been flown to Christchurch Hospital after a crash near Little River this evening.

The crash happened on the Christchurch-Akaroa Highway at Little River just before 6.30pm today.

A police spokesman said a woman had crashed down a bank. No other vehicles were involved.

A St John spokeswoman said the driver suffered moderate injuries and was flown to Christchurch Hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
