No sign of missing tramper
Searchers have found no trace of a tramper missing for six days on the South Island's West Coast.
Yohan Simon, 32, a Frenchman who lived in New Zealand, was dropped off at the Karamea Bluff on Happy Valley Saddle on October 18 and was to be collected by a friend on October 21.
However, he failed to arrive at the collection point at Glass Eye Creek Bridge.
His friends spent the next three days searching for him before notifying the police of his disappearance on Friday evening.
Today, a helicopter reached a hut in the Little Wanganui area, near Falls Creek where it was hoped Simon might be, but there was no sign of him.
Police believe he may have walked out of the area. The operation was now in ''continued limited search mode'', a spokeswoman said.
Simon has light brown dreadlocks and was carrying a backpack.
Anyone information is asked to contact police.
