Police have released the name of the South Korean tourist killed in a crash near Twizel at the weekend.
Taewook Kim, 26, died on Saturday after the car he was driving was hit by a truck.
He was travelling with fellow tourist Jeogsu Kim, not related, on State Highway 80 near Twizel.
The pair pulled out in front of the truck at an intersection with SH 8, and the truck hit the driver's side of the car.
Taewook Kim died at the scene. His passenger was taken to Christchurch Hospital by helicopter where he remains in a critical condition.
