Baby remains in hospital after hit by flying wood

A two-month old boy remains in hospital after being struck by a piece of plywood that blew off a Christchurch building yesterday afternoon.

High winds blew the plywood off a building on the corner of Dundas and Colombo Streets, striking the boy, his mother and a man in his 50s.

The mother and the man were discharged but the boy was still in a stable condition in Christchurch Hospital. They had sustained serious injuries and head injuries.

Fire fighters and police helped secure loose material at the DMC House site, owned by DMC Property Investments Ltd.
