Search continues for missing taxi driver
Police have "grave concerns" for missing Christchurch taxi driver David John Mackle.
The 50-year-old was last seen at his Opawa home at 11pm on December 11.
A police spokesman said 15 search and rescue volunteers went looking for him in the Mairehau area this morning.
Mackle's Gold Band taxi, a white 2008 Toyota Camry, registration number ELQ718, was found in Kellys Rd, Mairehau, at 11am on Thursday.
He is described as a European of medium build. He is 187 centimetres with short grey hair, and was possibly carrying a 9 kilogram LPG gas cylinder.
The spokesman said police were ''very concerned'' for Mackle's welfare.
"They have had no contact with him so they are searching the area where they think he may have gone to," he said.
Any member of the public, that may have seen Mackle, should contact police on 03 363 7400.
