A tramper in his 60s has been flown to Nelson hospital by helicopter this morning.
The man, from Milton, was tramping with his son through the Richmond Ranges area when he injured his leg/ankle while negotiating uneven terrain. They activated their locator beacon at Hunters Hut.
The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter was dispatched and the man was treated for his injuries by an intensive care paramedic and flown to Nelson Hospital Emergency Dept for further assessment.
